About Our Materials & Ethics

No. Every bone we use is a by-product of FSSAI-licensed food processing facilities. The animals from which our materials originate are part of India's legal, regulated food production chain. We do not source materials specifically for our art — we repurpose materials that would otherwise go to landfill.

Never. Carvora Studio is firmly opposed to the use of ivory or any material from endangered or protected species. Our sourcing is restricted exclusively to by-products of FSSAI-licensed food processing plants, using buffalo bones only.

We use buffalo bones, which are by-products of India's legal and regulated buffalo meat processing industry. They are ethically sourced, densely structured, and exceptionally well-suited to fine carving.
Yes, entirely. Our three-stage sterilisation process — using Sodium Hypochlorite, heat treatment at 100°C+, and Hydrogen Peroxide immersion — follows EU Commission Regulation No. 142/2011 standards. Every finished piece is microscopically clean and safe for display in any home, including around children and pets.

About Our Products

Yes. Every piece in our collection is carved, finished, and inspected by hand. No two pieces are exactly alike — this is the nature and the beauty of handcraft.
This varies significantly by size and complexity. Small jewellery pieces may be completed in a few days. Large decorative sculptures can take four to eight weeks. For custom commissions, we will give you a clear timeline before work begins.
Yes — this is what our Custom Commission service is for. Reach out via WhatsApp or email with your idea, and we will work with you from initial sketch through to finished piece.

About Custom Commissions

Get in touch via WhatsApp or email with your idea — a description, reference images, dimensions, or any other details you have. Our lead artisan will respond within 24 hours with initial thoughts. We then refine the design together before any carving begins. Once you approve the design, we confirm a timeline and begin work.

Typically between two and eight weeks, depending on complexity. We will give you a clear estimate before you confirm, and we keep you updated throughout.

Yes. We welcome bulk commissions and can discuss timelines, pricing, and packaging options that suit your needs. Please contact us with your requirements.
Yes. Inscriptions and personalised motifs are possible on most piece types. Discuss your requirements with us at the enquiry stage.

Ordering, Shipping & Returns

Yes. We ship to customers worldwide. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and the size and value of your order.
Domestic shipping within India: 3–7 business days. International shipping: typically 7–30 days, depending on destination and customs processing. We provide a tracking number for every order.
All pieces are carefully wrapped and cushioned in packaging designed specifically to protect fragile artwork through transit. Larger or more complex pieces receive custom protective packing.
Yes, within 48 hours of placing an order or before the item is dispatched — whichever is earlier. We will refund the full amount minus any applicable transaction and processing fees. Cancellation is not possible once the shipment is dispatched.
Please contact us within 48 hours of receiving a damaged piece, with photographs of the damage. We will assess the situation and arrange either a repair, a replacement, or a refund — depending on the extent of damage and your preference.

Caring for Your Piece

Keep your piece away from prolonged direct sunlight, which can cause discolouration over time. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid submerging in water or exposing to chemicals. With basic care, a bone carving will last for generations.
We recommend indoor display only. Exposure to moisture, rain, and temperature variation can affect the material over time.
