The Art of Giving Bones a Beautiful Life

Our Story

What Drives Us

Ethical Sourcing — Every piece of bone we use is a by-product, never a primary purpose. We source exclusively from FSSAI-licensed plants, and we are proud to be among the first in our craft to make this commitment publicly and verifiably.

Uncompromising Craft — Our artisans do not rush. A complex piece may take weeks. The result is always worth it.

Who We Are

Carvora Studio is a India-based bone carving atelier — a meeting place of centuries-old craft and contemporary design. We create handcrafted bone art for collectors, interior designers, gift-givers, and anyone who believes that a home deserves more than mass-produced decoration.

Our journey began with a simple conviction: that beauty and ethics are not opposites. That it is possible to create extraordinary art from materials the world discards — and to do so with integrity, skill, and pride.

What emerged is Carvora Studio: a studio where every piece is carved by hand, sourced responsibly, and sterilized to the highest international standards before it ever reaches your door.

What We Believe

We believe art should have a conscience.
The bones we use are by-products of FSSAI-licensed food processing facilities in India. They are materials that would otherwise go to landfill. Our artisans transform them into pieces that collectors treasure for lifetimes. That is the circle we are proud to close.

We believe in the human hand.
No machine can replicate what our artisans do. Every cut, every curve, every lattice of intricate detail is the result of years of practice and an intimate understanding of the material. When you own a Carvora piece, you own someone's craft — not a product.

We believe in transparency.
We will always tell you exactly where our materials come from, how they are processed, and who made your piece. We think you deserve to know.

Quality and Experience

Radical Transparency — We document our sourcing and sterilisation process in detail and make it available to any patron who asks. Nothing is hidden.

Community of Craft — Our artisans are not employees in the conventional sense. They are partners in a creative enterprise, and their names and stories are attached to their work.

Meet Our Artisans

Dedicated craftspeople driving our passion for bone carving.

Jalaluddin Akhtar

Master Carver

Jalaluddin has spent over forty years perfecting a craft that demands equal parts patience and daring. His specialty is architectural and geometric carving — the intricate lattice structures that define Carvora's most celebrated pieces. He works without templates, guided entirely by hand and eye.

"When I hold a piece of bone, I already know what's inside it. I'm just revealing it."

Aqeel Akhtar

Head of Quality & Finishing

Every piece that leaves Carvora Studio passes through Aqeel's hands. His role is to ensure that the gap between vision and finished object is as small as possible. He inspects surface finish, structural integrity, and sterilization standards for every single piece in our collection.

"My job is to make sure what you receive is exactly what we promised — or better."

Salahuddin Beg

Natural Forms Specialist

Salahuddin's work is defined by its warmth. Where some carvers pursue geometric precision, Salahuddin pursues feeling — the particular tilt of an animal's head, the texture of a feather, the movement frozen mid-motion in bone. His animal carvings are among our most requested pieces.

"I want every animal I carve to feel alive. Like it might look back at you."

Our Promise to You

A Carvora Studio piece is not just a purchase. It is an invitation into a centuries-old craft tradition that our team carries forward every day. When you commission or buy from us, you are supporting that tradition, the artisans who practice it, and a model of art-making that takes both ethics and beauty seriously.

We are always a message away — before, during, and long after your piece arrives.
